Gold trading range for the day is 26840-27094.
Gold recovered as support seen from rupee weakness and continued weakness in prices boosted the sales on account of physical buying on Akshaya Tritiya.
Some pressure seen on prices as a sharp rise in the dollar against the Japanese yen weighed on prices.
SPDR Gold Trust said its holdings dropped by 2.53 tonnes to 1051.65 tonnes from 1054.18 tonnes.
